About Us
Human trafficking is tied with illegal arms activity as the second largest criminal industry in the world today, second only to drug dealing (US Department of Health and Human Services). Approximately 80 percent of human trafficking victims are women and girls, and up to 50 percent are minors (U.S. Department of State). Women and children who lack resources, education, and sustainable employment are especially vulnerable to human trafficking because they often feel they have no other choice.
MADE IN HOPE empowers exploited women and children with choices. We partner with on-the-ground ministries that seek out and shelter trafficked women and children, giving them the opportunity to continue their education, learn skills that lead to sustainable employment, and begin the healing process supported by mentors, counselors, and prayer.
Specifically, MADE IN HOPE raises money for scholarships so formerly exploited women and children may pursue an education, markets products made by rescued women to generate a sustainable income, and supports the healing process with both human and financial resources.
MADE IN HOPE also advocates for the still enslaved by sharing stories of exploited women at churches, conferences, and other events.
There is no single solution to helping those affected by human trafficking, so we partner with several organizations that use a variety of different
Putting the Bling in Hope
MADE IN HOPE augments the She WORKS program by marketing the products and services of the livelihood skills training program, helping to support both the women and the program financially. The secondary and equally important aspect for the marketing of the products is advocacy. Our products serve as a tool to share the story of the women and to bring awareness to the issues of human trafficking. The tags on each piece is signed by the woman who made it, building a bridge between her and the wearer, sharing hope together. Products we currently market are handcrafted jewelry (earrings, bracelets and necklaces) and recycled candy (and food packaging) wrapper bags.
(e)missions - Exposure Trips
The “e” is for exposure. This mission experience will “expose” people to areas of need within urban and rural environments throughout the Philippines. (e)missionaries will be able to spend time visiting various ministries that serve the poor and marginalized throughout the country. This program also supports our She WORKS program and initiatives in the Philippines.
MIH Men
We want to see men become healthy in all aspects of their life and be engaged in his calling at home, work, church and the world. As we develop this initiative, our hope is to see men rally together and "take a stand" towards eliminating violence against women and children. Ezekiel 22:23-30
